 حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ سُلَیْمَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُلَیْمَانَ الدَّیْلَمِیِّ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ الصَّیْرَفِیِّ قَالَ: کُنْتُ بِالْکُوفَهِ فَیَأْتِینِی إِخْوَانٌ کَثِیرَهٌ وَ کَرِهْتُ الشُّهْرَهَ فَتَخَوَّفْتُ أَنْ أَشْتَهِرَ بِدِینِی فَأَمَرْتُ غُلَامِی کُلَّمَا جَاءَنِی رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ یَطْلُبُنِی قَالَ لَیْسَ هُوَ هَاهُنَا قَالَ فَحَجَجْتُ تِلْکَ السَّنَهَ فَلَقِیتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَرَأَیْتُ مِنْهُ ثِقْلًا وَ تَغَیُّراً فِیمَا بَیْنِی وَ بَیْنَهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاکَ مَا الَّذِی غَیَّرَنِی عِنْدَکَ قَالَ الَّذِی غَیَّرَکَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِینَ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاکَ إِنَّمَا تَخَوَّفْتُ الشُّهْرَهَ وَ قَدْ عَلِمَ اللَّهُ شِدَّهَ حُبِّی لَهُمْ فَقَالَ یَا إِسْحَاقُ لَا تَمَلَّ زِیَارَهَ إِخْوَانِکَ فَإِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ إِذَا لَقِیَ أَخَاهُ الْمُؤْمِنَ فَقَالَ مَرْحَباً کَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مَرْحَباً إِلَی یَوْمِ الْقِیَامَهِ فَإِذَا صَافَحَهُ أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ فِیمَا بَیْنَ إِبْهَامَیْهِمَا مِائَهَ رَحْمَهٍ تِسْعَهً وَ تِسْعِینَ لِأَشَدِّهِمْ حُبّاً لِصَاحِبِهِ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِمَا بِوَجْهِهِ فَکَانَ عَلَی أَشَدِّهِمَا حُبّاً لِصَاحِبِهِ أَشَدَّ إِقْبَالًا فَإِذَا تَعَانَقَا غَمَرَتْهُمَا الرَّحْمَهُ فَإِذَا لَبِثَا لَا یُرِیدَانِ إِلَّا وَجْهَهُ لَا یُرِیدَانِ غَرَضاً مِنْ أَغْرَاضِ الدُّنْیَا قِیلَ لَهُمَا غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَکُمَا فَاسْتَأْنِفَا فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَا عَلَی الْمُسَاءَلَهِ قَالَتِ الْمَلَائِکَهُ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ تَنَحَّوْا عَنْهُمَا فَإِنَّ لَهُمَا سِرّاً وَ قَدْ سَتَرَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِمَا- قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ قُلْتُ لَهُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاکَ لَا یکب [یُکْتَبُ] عَلَیْنَا لَفْظُنَا فَقَدْ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- ما یَلْفِظُ مِنْ قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَیْهِ رَقِیبٌ عَتِیدٌ قَالَ فَتَنَفَّسَ ابْنُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص الصُّعَدَاءَ ثُمَّ بَکَی حَتَّی خَضَبَتْ دُمُوعُهُ لِحْیَتَهُ وَ قَالَ یَا إِسْحَاقُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَکَ وَ تَعَالَی إِنَّمَا نَادَی الْمَلَائِکَهَ أَنْ یَغِیبُوا عَنِ الْمُؤْمِنَیْنِ إِذَا الْتَقَیَا إِجْلَالًا لَهُمَا فَإِذَا کَانَتِ الْمَلَائِکَهُ لَا تَکْتُبُ لَفْظَهُمَا وَ لَا تَعْرِفُ کَلَامَهُمَا فَقَدْ عَرَفَهُ الْحَافِظُ عَلَیْهِمَا عَالِمُ السِّرِّ وَ أَخْفَی یَا إِسْحَاقُ فَخَفِ اللَّهَ کَأَنَّکَ تَرَاهُ فَإِنْ کُنْتَ لَا تَرَاهُ فَإِنَّهُ یَرَاکَ فَإِنْ کُنْتَ تَرَی أَنَّهُ لَا یَرَاکَ فَقَدْ کَفَرْتَ وَ إِنْ کُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ یَرَاکَ ثُمَّ اسْتَتَرْتَ عَنِ الْمَخْلُوقِینَ بِالْمَعَاصِی وَ بَرَزْتَ لَهُ بِهَا فَقَدْ جَعَلْتَهُ فِی حَدِّ أَهْوَنِ النَّاظِرِینَ إِلَیْکَ.

1. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan al-Saffar from ’Abaad b. Sulayman from Muhammad b. Sulayman al-Daylami from his father from Ishaq b. Ammar al-Sayrafi who said: “O Ishaq! The Almighty Allah orders the angels to stay away from believers while they are conversing so that they do not note down the conversation nor do they know about it. Their conversation is known to only Allah, the Guardian of secrets. O Ishaq! Fear Allah as if you are seeing Him because even if you cannot see Him, He is definitely looking at you. If you think that He is not seeing you, you will become an infidel. If you have a belief that He is looking you and you hide your sins from other creatures and reveal them in front of Allah you have really underestimated His Sight.”
