1ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ وَأَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ سَعْدَانَ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَمِينٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَنْ بَخِلَ بِمَعُونَةِ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ وَالْقِيَامِ لَهُ فِي حَاجَتِهِ إِلا ابْتُلِيَ بِمَعُونَةِ مَنْ يَأْثَمُ عَلَيْهِ وَلا يُؤْجَرُ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid and abu Ali al-Ash’ari from Muhammad ibn Hassan from Muhammad ibn Ali from Sa’dan from Husayn ibn ‘Amin from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, ‘Whoever exercises stinginess in assisting his Muslim brother and in helping him in his needs will run into an involvement of such an assistance that will make him sin and receive no rewards for it.’” 

2ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ ابْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مِنْ شِيعَتِنَا أَتَى رَجُلاً مِنْ إِخْوَانِهِ فَاسْتَعَانَ بِهِ فِي حَاجَتِهِ فَلَمْ يُعِنْهُ وَهُوَ يَقْدِرُ إِلا ابْتَلاهُ الله بِأَنْ يَقْضِيَ حَوَائِجَ غَيْرِهِ مِنْ أَعْدَائِنَا يُعَذِّبُهُ الله عَلَيْهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ.

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from ibn Muskan from abu Basir from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “If anyone of our Shi’a (followers) comes to his brother (in belief) for help and does not help him while he is able to help, Allah will make him help other people of our enemies and on the Day of Judgment Allah will punish him for such help.” 

3ـ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنِ الْخَطَّابِ بْنِ مُصْعَبٍ عَنْ سَدِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ لَمْ يَدَعْ رَجُلٌ مَعُونَةَ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ حَتَّى يَسْعَى فِيهَا وَيُوَاسِيَهُ إِلا ابْتُلِيَ بِمَعُونَةِ مَنْ يَأْثَمُ وَلا يُؤْجَرُ.

3. Abu Ali al-Ash’ari has narrated from Muhammad ibn Hassan from Muhammad ibn Aslam from al-Khattab ibn Mas’ab ibn Sadir from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Whoever ignores assistance to his Muslim brother and the endeavor to cooperate with him will be involved in assisting someone who commits sins. It (assistance) does not bring him any rewards.” 

4ـ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الله عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ مَنْ قَصَدَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ إِخْوَانِهِ مُسْتَجِيراً بِهِ فِي بَعْضِ أَحْوَالِهِ فَلَمْ يُجِرْهُ بَعْدَ أَنْ يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَدْ قَطَعَ وَلايَةَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ. 

4. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu’alla ibn Muhammad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah from Ali ibn la’ far from his brother abu al-Hassan (a.s.) who has said the following: “I heard abu al-Hassan (a.s.) saying, ‘Anyone whose brother (in belief) comes to him for help and support in his affairs and one does not provide any support or assistance when capable of doing so, has cut off oneself from the guardianship of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy.’”
