مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ أَوْ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُصَدِّقِ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ مُوسَى السَّابَاطِيِّ قَالَ وَصَفَ لِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) الْمَطْبُوخَ كَيْفَ يُطْبَخُ حَتَّى يَصِيرَ حَلَالًا فَقَالَ لِي ( عليه السلام ) خُذْ رُبُعاً مِنْ زَبِيبٍ وَ تُنَقِّيهِ وَ صُبَّ عَلَيْهِ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ رِطْلًا مِنْ مَاءٍ ثُمَّ أَنْقِعْهُ لَيْلَةً فَإِذَا كَانَ أَيَّامُ الصَّيْفِ وَ خَشِيتَ أَنْ يَنِشَّ جَعَلْتَهُ فِي تَنُّورٍ مَسْجُورٍ قَلِيلًا حَتَّى لَا يَنِشَّ ثُمَّ تَنْزِعُ الْمَاءَ مِنْهُ كُلَّهُ حَتَّى إِذَا أَصْبَحْتَ صَبَبْتَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَاءِ بِقَدْرِ مَا يَغْمُرُهُ ثُمَّ تُغْلِيهِ حَتَّى تَذْهَبَ حَلَاوَتُهُثُمَّ تَنْزِعُ مَاءَهُ الْآخَرَ فَتَصُبُّ عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءَ الْأَوَّلَ ثُمَّ تَكِيلُهُ كُلَّهُ فَتَنْظُرُ كَمِ الْمَاءُ ثُمَّ تَكِيلُ ثُلُثَهُ فَتَطْرَحُهُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ الَّذِي تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَطْبُخَهُ فِيهِ وَ تَصُبُّ بِقَدْرِ مَا يَغْمُرُهُ مَاءً وَ تُقَدِّرُهُ بِعُودٍ وَ تَجْعَلُ قَدْرَهُ قَصَبَةً أَوْ عُوداً فَتَحُدُّهَا عَلَى قَدْرِ مُنْتَهَى الْمَاءِ ثُمَّ تُغْلِي الثُّلُثَ الْأَخِيرَ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ الْمَاءُ الْبَاقِي ثُمَّ تُغْلِيهِ بِالنَّارِ وَ لَا تَزَالُ تُغْلِيهِ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ الثُّلُثَانِ وَ يَبْقَى الثُّلُثُثُمَّ تَأْخُذُ لِكُلِّ رُبُعٍ رِطْلًا مِنَ الْعَسَلِ فَتُغْلِيهِ حَتَّى تَذْهَبَ رَغْوَةُ الْعَسَلِ وَ تَذْهَبَ غِشَاوَةُ الْعَسَلِ فِي الْمَطْبُوخِ ثُمَّ تَضْرِبُهُ بِعُودٍ ضَرْباً شَدِيداً حَتَّى يَخْتَلِطَ وَ إِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ تُطَيِّبَهُ بِشَيْ‏ءٍ مِنْ زَعْفَرَانٍ أَوْ بِشَيْ‏ءٍ مِنْ زَنْجَبِيلٍ فَافْعَلْ ثُمَّ اشْرَبْهُ وَ إِنْ أَحْبَبْتَ أَنْ يَطُولَ مَكْثُهُ عِنْدَكَ فَرَوِّقْهُ .

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ali ibn al-Hassan or a man from Ali ibn Faddal from ‘Amr ibn Sa‘id from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah from ‘Ammar ibn Musa al-Sabatiy who has said the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, once explained for me how to cook raisins until the brew becomes lawful. He (the Imam) said, ‘Take one quarter of raisins and clean them. Pour twelve ritl of water on them, then soak for one night. If it is summer and you are afraid of its simmering, keep it in an oven, which is full a little so it does not simmer, then remove all the water from it. In the morning, pour water on it so that it is covered with water. Thereafter, boil it until its sweetness is gone. Thereafter, remove the other water and pour on it the first water. Thereafter, measure all of it and see how much the water is. Thereafter, measure one-third of it and pour it in the pot in which you want to cook it. Pour enough water to cover it, then measure it with a stick and keep its size and measurement by a stick or reed and mark it at the surface of the water. Thereafter, boil the other third until the remaining water goes, then boil it on fire and keep boiling until two-thirds are gone and only one-third is left. Thereafter, for every quarter take one ritl of honey and boil it until its scum and suds and blur of honey is gone from the cooking. Thereafter, beat it with a stick or such thing firmly until it is mixed and if you like, you can mix fragrance with saffron or ginger, you can do so, then you can drink it. If you like it to remain with you for a longer time then clean it properly.’”

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُصَدِّقِ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ عَنْ عَمَّارٍ السَّابَاطِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ سُئِلَ عَنِ الزَّبِيبِ كَيْفَ طَبْخُهُ حَتَّى يُشْرَبَ حَلَالًا فَقَالَ تَأْخُذُ رُبُعاً مِنْ زَبِيبٍ فَتُنَقِّيهِ ثُمَّ تَطْرَحُ عَلَيْهِ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ رِطْلًا مِنْ مَاءٍ ثُمَّ تُنْقِعُهُ لَيْلَةً فَإِذَا كَانَ مِنَ الْغَدِ نَزَعْتَ سُلَافَتَهُ ثُمَّ تَصُبُّ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَاءِ قَدْرَ مَا يَغْمُرُهُ ثُمَّ تُغْلِيهِ بِالنَّارِ غَلْيَةً ثُمَّ تَنْزِعُ مَاءَهُ فَتَصُبُّهُ عَلَى الْمَاءِ الْأَوَّلِثُمَّ تَطْرَحُهُ فِي إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ جَمِيعاً ثُمَّ تُوقِدُ تَحْتَهُ النَّارَ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ ثُلُثَاهُ وَ يَبْقَى الثُّلُثُ وَ تَحْتَهُ النَّارُ ثُمَّ تَأْخُذُ رِطْلًا مِنْ عَسَلٍ فَتُغْلِيهِ بِالنَّارِ غَلْيَةً وَ تَنْزِعُ رَغْوَتَهُ ثُمَّ تَطْرَحُهُ عَلَى الْمَطْبُوخِ ثُمَّ تَضْرِبُهُ حَتَّى يَخْتَلِطَ بِهِ وَ اطْرَحْ فِيهِ إِنْ شِئْتَ زَعْفَرَاناً وَ إِنْ شِئْتَ تُطَيِّبُهُ بِزَنْجَبِيلٍ قَلِيلٍ هَذَاقَالَ فَإِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَقْسِمَهُ أَثْلَاثاً لِتَطْبُخَهُ فَكِلْهُ بِشَيْ‏ءٍ وَاحِدٍ حَتَّى تَعْلَمَ كَمْ هُوَ ثُمَّ اطْرَحْ عَلَيْهِ الْأَوَّلَ فِي الْإِنَاءِ الَّذِي تُغْلِيهِ فِيهِ ثُمَّ تَجْعَلُ فِيهِ مِقْدَاراً وَ حُدَّهُ حَيْثُ يَبْلُغُ الْمَاءُ ثُمَّ اطْرَحِ الثُّلُثَ الْآخَرَ ثُمَّ حُدَّهُ حَيْثُ يَبْلُغُ الْمَاءُ ثُمَّ تَطْرَحُ الثُّلُثَ الْأَخِيرَ ثُمَّ حُدَّهُ حَيْثُ يَبْلُغُ الْآخَرُ ثُمَّ تُوقِدُ تَحْتَهُ بِنَارٍ لَيِّنَةٍ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ ثُلُثَاهُ وَ يَبْقَى ثُلُثُهُ .

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ahmad ibn al-Hassan from ‘Amr ibn Sa‘id from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah from ‘Ammar al-Sabatiy who has said the following: “Once abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, was asked about raisins and how to cook them to become clean for drinking. He (the Imam) said, ‘Take one quarter of raisins and clean it. Thereafter pour twelve ritl of water on it, then leave it for the night to soak. In the morning remove its suds, then pour on it enough water so it is covered thereby. Thereafter, boil it on fire for a boil then remove the water, then pour it on the first water, then place all of it in one pot. Then, ignite fire beneath it until two- thirds are evaporated and only one-third has remained with the fire underneath. Then take one ritl of honey and boil it on fire for a boil, remove its blur, pour it on the cooked (preparation), beat it until it is mixed, then pour saffron or a little ginger for fragrance. “You can also divide it in three parts to cook. First, you should measure it by a certain measurement so you know how much it is. Then place the first one in a pot in which you want to boil it. Then pour in it one-third as much as water reaches and mark its level, then pour the other third part, then mark it where water reaches then pour the last third part, then mark it where this other reaches; then fire underneath gently until its two-thirds are gone and only one-third is left.’”

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ السَّيَّارِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَمَّنْ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ الْهَاشِمِيِّ قَالَ شَكَوْتُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَرَاقِرَ تُصِيبُنِي فِي مَعِدَتِي وَ قِلَّةَ اسْتِمْرَائِي الطَّعَامَ فَقَالَ لِي لِمَ لَا تَتَّخِذُ نَبِيذاً نَشْرَبُهُ نَحْنُ وَ هُوَ يُمْرِئُ الطَّعَامَ وَ يَذْهَبُ بِالْقَرَاقِرِ وَ الرِّيَاحِ مِنَ الْبَطْنِ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ صِفْهُ لِي جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَفَقَالَ لِي تَأْخُذُ صَاعاً مِنْ زَبِيبٍ فَتُنَقِّي حَبَّهُ وَ مَا فِيهِ ثُمَّ تَغْسِلُ بِالْمَاءِ غَسْلًا جَيِّداً ثُمَّ تُنْقِعُهُ فِي مِثْلِهِ مِنَ الْمَاءِ أَوْ مَا يَغْمُرُهُ ثُمَّ تَتْرُكُهُ فِي الشِّتَاءِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ بِلَيَالِيهَا وَ فِي الصَّيْفِ يَوْماً وَ لَيْلَةً فَإِذَا أَتَى عَلَيْهِ ذَلِكَ الْقَدْرُ صَفَّيْتَهُ وَ أَخَذْتَ صَفْوَتَهُ وَ جَعَلْتَهُ فِي إِنَاءٍ وَ أَخَذْتَ مِقْدَارَهُ بِعُودٍ ثُمَّ طَبَخْتَهُ طَبْخاً رَفِيقاً حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ ثُلُثَاهُ وَ يَبْقَى ثُلُثُهُثُمَّ تَجْعَلُ عَلَيْهِ نِصْفَ رِطْلِ عَسَلٍ وَ تَأْخُذُ مِقْدَارَ الْعَسَلِ ثُمَّ تَطْبُخُهُ حَتَّى تَذْهَبَ تِلْكَ الزِّيَادَةُ ثُمَّ تَأْخُذُ زَنْجَبِيلًا وَ خُولِنْجَاناً وَ دَارَصِينِيَّ وَ الزَّعْفَرَانَ وَ قَرَنْفُلًا وَ مَصْطَكَى وَ تَدُقُّهُ وَ تَجْعَلُهُ فِي خِرْقَةٍ رَقِيقَةٍ وَ تَطْرَحُهُ فِيهِ وَ تُغْلِيهِ مَعَهُ غَلْيَةً ثُمَّ تُنْزِلُهُ فَإِذَا بَرَدَ صَفَّيْتَهُ وَ أَخَذْتَ مِنْهُ عَلَى غَدَائِكَ وَ عَشَائِكَقَالَ فَفَعَلْتُ فَذَهَبَ عَنِّي مَا كُنْتُ أَجِدُهُ وَ هُوَ شَرَابٌ طَيِّبٌ لَا يَتَغَيَّرُ إِذَا بَقِيَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ .

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Musa ibn al-Hassan from al-Sayyariy from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from those who narrated to him from ’Isma‘il ibn al-Fadl al-Hashimy who has said the following: “I once complained before abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about growling in my stomach and my not being able to digest food. He (the Imam) said, ‘Why do you not drink al-Nabidh which we drink? It digests food and takes away abdominal growling and gases.’ I then asked, ‘Please describe it for me, I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Take one Sa‘ of raisins, clean it of seeds and other things in it, then wash it properly, then soak it with an equal amount of water or a quantity that covers it. In winter leave it for three days and nights, and in summer one day and night. Thereafter clean it and take the cleaned amount, place it in a pot and take its measurement with a piece of wood then cook it gently until its two-thirds are gone and one-third is left. Then place in it one-half ritl of honey. Take this honey and cook it until the extra is gone then take ginger, Khulinjana (a certain Indian plant) and cinnamon, saffron, dianthus and Mustakiy (Mastic tree) powder them and place them in a piece of fine cloth. Place it in to cook and boil it with the rest, then take it away from the fire. When it is cool clean it. You can take from it after your lunch and dinner.’ He (the narrator) has said, ‘I followed the instruction and my condition that I had was gone. It is a fine drink and does not change if it remains for a time, by the will of Allah.’”

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنِ السَّيَّارِيِّ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ شَكَوْتُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) بَعْضَ الْوَجَعِ وَ قُلْتُ إِنَّ الطَّبِيبَ وَصَفَ لِي شَرَاباً آخُذُ الزَّبِيبَ وَ أَصُبُّ عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءَ لِلْوَاحِدِ اثْنَيْنِ ثُمَّ أَصُبُّ عَلَيْهِ الْعَسَلَ ثُمَّ أَطْبُخُهُ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ ثُلُثَاهُ وَ يَبْقَى الثُّلُثُ فَقَالَ أَ لَيْسَ حُلْواً قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ اشْرَبْهُ وَ لَمْ أُخْبِرْهُ كَمِ الْعَسَلُ .

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn Ja‘far from al-Sayyariy from those whom he has mentioned from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “I once complained before abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a certain pain and that a physician has prescribed for me a drink from raisins with water twice as much, and that honey must be poured on it and cooked until two-thirds are gone and only one-third is left.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Is it not sweet?’ I replied, ‘Yes, it is sweet.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘You can drink it.’ I did not tell him how much the amount of honey was.’”
