9. What is inspited to the imam (asws), from what isn’t in the book and the sunnah, from the dilemmas

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: كَانَ عَلِيٌّ يَعْمَلُ بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَ سُنَّةِ رَسُولِهِ‏ فَإِذَا وَرَدَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْ‏ءٌ وَ الْحَادِثُ الَّذِي لَيْسَ فِي الْكِتَابِ وَ لَا فِي السُّنَّةِ أَلْهَمَهُ اللَّهُ الْحَقَّ فِيهِ إِلْهَاماً وَ ذَلِكَ وَ اللَّهِ مِنَ الْمُعْضِلَاتِ.


1. It is narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Al Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Al A’ala Bin Razeyn, from Muhammad Bin Muslim, From Abu Ja’far (a.s.) having said: ‘Ali (a.s.) used to act in accordance with the Book of Allah (azwj) Sunnah of his (a.s.) Prophet (saww). So, whenever the thing was referred to him (a.s.) which wasn’t in the Book nor in the Sunnah, Allah (azwj) Inspired him (a.s.) the truth regarding it with an Inspiration, and by Allah (azwj) that is from the dilemmas’’.




حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ‏ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: كَانَ عَلِيٌّ ع يَعْمَلُ بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَ سُنَّةِ نَبِيِّهِ فَإِذَا وَرَدَ عَلَيْهِ الشَّيْ‏ءُ الْحَادِثُ الَّذِي لَيْسَ فِي الْكِتَابِ وَ لَا فِي السُّنَّةِ أَلْهَمَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى إِلْهَاماً وَ ذَلِكَ وَ اللَّهِ مِنَ الْمُعْضِلَاتِ.


2. It is narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Abdullah Bin Hilal, from Al A’ala, from Muhammad Bin Muslim, ‘From Abu Ja’far (a.s.) having said: ‘Ali (a.s.) used to in accordance with the Book of Allah (azwj) and the Sunnah of his (a.s.) Prophet (saww). Whenever something was referred to him (a.s.), the new thing which wasn’t in the Book not in the Sunnah, Allah (azwj) the Exalted would Inspired him (a.s.) with an Inspiration, and that, by Allah (azwj), is from the dilemmas’’.

3. It is narrated to us by Abdullah Bin Muhammad, from Al Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Al A’ala Bin Razeyn, from Muhammad Bin Muslim, ‘From Abu Ja’far (a.s.) having said: ‘Ali (a.s.) used to act in accordance with the Book of Allah (azwj) and the Sunnah of his (a.s.) Prophet (saww). Whenever something new was referred to him (a.s.), and that which wasn’t in the Book nor in the Sunnah, Allah (azwj) would Inspire him (a.s.) the truth with an Inspiration, and that, by Allah (azwj), is from the dilemmas’’.
