He (a.s.) initiated me and said: ‘Yes, by Allah Who there is no god except He ! The man is Al-Mufazzal Bin Umar Al-Jufy’ – until I counted thirty something times, he (a.s.) said it and repeated it, and said: ‘But rather he is a father after a father’’.

I went to him (a.s.) and he (a.s.) was at Al-Medina, being a guest in the house of Bazie. I entered to see him (a.s.) and greeted, and he (a.s.) mentioned Safwan, and Ibn Sinan, and someone else no one had heard of. I said within myself, ‘I shall get him (a.s.) to sympathise upon Zakariya Bin Adam, perhaps he would be safe from what he (a.s.) had said regarding them’. Then I retracted to myself and said, ‘Who am I until I would object regarding this and (something) resembling it to my Master (a.s.). He (a.s.) is more knowing with what he (a.s.) does’. He (a.s.) said:’ O Abu Ali! Do not be hasty upon the like of Abu Yahya, and I (a.s.) had refused from his service’’.

10. It is narrated to us by Ali Bin Ismail, from Muhammad bin Umar, from Ali Bin Asbat who said, ‘I saw Abu Ja’far (a.s.) and he (a.s.) had come out, and I stared in looking at him (a.s.), and to his (a.s.) head, and to his (a.s.) legs, so I could described his (a.s.) stature to our companions at Egypt. He (a.s.) fell down in Sajdah and said: ‘Allah Argued regarding the Imamate with the like of what He Argued regarding the Prophet-hood. Allah the Exalted Said: and We Gave him the Wisdom as a boy [19:12]; and Allah Said: when he reaches his maturity and reaches forty years [46:15]. So, it is allowed that the Wisdom be given when he is a boy, and it is allowed that he be given, and he is forty years old’’.

He (a.s.) went on to criticise one of his (a.s.) family members in a mention. I said within myself, ‘This is the best of the creatures of Allah in his (a.s.) time, advising us with the righteousness and he (a.s.) saying regarding a man from his (a.s.) family members, this word?’ He (a.s.) turned his (a.s.) face and said: ‘That which you heard is from the righteousness. When I (a.s.) said this they did not ratify his words, and if I (a.s.) don’t say this, they ratify his words over mine’’.
